Monsoon Season Officially Ends 9/30/16
Official Start & End Dates
Sedona AZ – Our monsoon officially starts on June 15th and ends on September 30th. During the monsoon, there is a weather pattern shift. Our normal weather pattern comes from the north and carries much colder air generally.
During the summer months, the weather patterns come from the southwest or southeast and bring warm moist air that drops a lot of the rain we get for the year. This weather pattern usually starts in mid July and continues through mid September.
Monsoon started shortly after the official date of June 15th and our last storm rolled up from the south yesterday. We are still showing show southern moisture in the air currently, so there could be a storm in northern and eastern Arizona. Sedona is very sunny today with a high of 74º as forecast.
