In Celebration of the First Full Moon of Our Sedona Spring
The Pink Moon
A “Pink Moon” doesn’t actually turn pink. The term comes from the moss pink herb or wild phlox flower. This is widespread during this time of year. Other names include Grass Moon or Egg Moon. These names correlate to the Northern Hemisphere seasons.
Many tribes over the centuries have followed the cycle of the moon and stars as their calendar for planting, hunting, migration, etc. So each lunar cycle represents a particular seasonal or life occurrence. The first full moon of Spring is the Pink Moon.
