Record Sedona Snowfall!
16 Inches
March 18-19, 2012
See More Sedona Weather Statistics Here
You can see by the numbers in the Almanac above, we don’t get a lot of snow. Occasionally we will see a pretty good snowfall. However, I have never experienced a snowfall that has crippled our city. Our close proximity to Flagstaff allows for support units to aid and assist Sedona when needed (which is rare).
Snow melts fast. We call it “polite snow” because it does not overstay it’s welcome!
The weather does not stay below freezing. It “dips” below freezing. This means the melting process starts immediately. Our atmosphere is very dry so you do not feel bone chilling weather as you might in other parts of the country.
You can see additional stats such as “Number of Days” below 50º or Number of Days below 32º. Hottest Days – Days with Rain – New Category – Days with Sun!
Select Ricks World Sedona and the Sedona Weather tab and scroll to the HI and LOW Weather Stats (2011 thru 2017). You will find a lot of useful weather info.
it was snowing so hard you could not see any of the red rocks.
