Winter 2016-17
We had a very wet and snowy winter season. We had 7.5 inches of snow and 7.22 inches of rain. This was the heaviest precipitation in the seven years of this weather almanac. In fact we had our very first Christmas Eve and White Christmas. This was the highlight of the winter season. Overall, 2016 was the most precipitation by close to 4.4 inches. Our temps were probably tempered because of the cloud cover which acts like a blanket to keep the temps from plummeting.
February
We had a high day of 73.8º F for February and signs of spring were just about everywhere. many plum trees started blossoming. Bulbs were already sprouting. The low was 22.º F and we had no snowfall. However, our area did get 2.76 inches of rain. When you add that to the 2.78 inches we received in January, only 2010 had more rain in the first two months. That year had the largest rainfall prior to 2016 at 201.56 inches for the year. 2016 had 25.92 inches of rain.
