It All Started Back In 1995...
Sedona AZ Feb 23, 2018 - The Sedona International Film Festival will begin festivities on Saturday February 23rd. It all started back in 1995, with a modest 3 day festival. The festival is rich in history. Every year it has grown larger and larger.
Silver Anniversary Edition of Sedona Film Festival
This is the Silver Anniversary edition and will be a big celebration of serving the communities. Seven years ago, the Mary Fisher Theatre which provides a venue for theatre art, was opened all year long and it couldn't be done without the generous support of the community of Sedona and the international film community.
An International Success
The Sedona Film festival has blossomed into a 9 day event with more than 170 award winning selections. Independent film connoisseurs come from all over the world to enjoy these films as well as the beauty of Sedona and all that it offers.Much To See and Do
There are special events being held and attended by celebrity guests, as well as panel discussions, workshops and anniversary celebrations that will culminate on Sunday, March 3rd with showings of the award winning films shown at the Harkins Theatre. Many guests will hold private Oscar parties afterward.Coincides With The Oscars
The Sedona International Film Festival is planned to coincide with the week before the Oscars every year. This is the 25th year of this festival and each and every year the venues have gotten better and the crowds larger.Mary D Fisher Theatre
Years ago, all the events were held only at the local Harkins theatre and under tents. Now, there is an upscale Mary D Fisher theatre where the home offices of the International Film Festival are headquartered as well as a beautiful venue for holding movie revues as well as live or televised events in all the arts.The Sedona Art Preforming Center
Located adjacent to the Red Rock High School, it is the newest and largest venue for film festival events. All the events and parking areas are well planned and traffic moves surprisingly well! I do recommend getting to the events early so as to get a good seat. All three venues where films will be screened are great areas to view films.Look For Special Guest Appearances
As many of you know, many of the films will have special guests to add color commentary and take your questions. You may also get to see some celebrities who will be taking questions or preforming. This year Ed Asner, Billy Zane, Lin Shay, Mackenzie Phillips, Amy Smart and Mariel Hemingway will be on hand to help the Sedona International Film Festival celebrate 25 years of excellence.Learn About Festival Films & Event Schedule Here
