What’s it like in Spring in Sedona?
Sedona gets a variety of flowers, including cactus flowers and roses. You will see many types of animals and birds, including bobcats, deer, quail, javelina, coyotes, and butterflies. Our weather is mild. Most days will be in the 70ºs and 80ºs with a few days in the 60ºs or 90ºs. Freezing temps leave March and don’t return until November. Rain is fairly moderate. you can get in a lot of outdoor activities.
Many have said that clients want to see, touch and experience the energy of what is considered for most people, the largest purchase they make. I have also found that office space and places to get some “alone” time are very important and changing the way we habitat. Magic Hour or Magic Time in Sedona is a special time of day. You can see it right before sunrise and right after sunset where the visible light spectrum is separated into the colors of the rainbow as the white light hits the atmosphere at a low angle. Everything is bathed in the red-orange spectrum of light that is being bounced off the clouds in the east. Nothing escapes the color of the bounced light. The red rocks look more crimson and the green walls look orange. This lasts for about 20 minutes.
Some of the reasons Sedona has a very high Comfort Index is that the overall temperature and humidity levels make living a pleasant experience. Summer, winter temperatures and humidity are not extreme. Sedona-Weather.com has all the stats from 2010 to today.
This is the view I get as I drive up Shadow Rock drive to turn into my subdivision, The Cottages At Coffeepot. Snow is a rare and beautiful sight on Thunder Mountain. I have stated this before but yes, this is the Thunder Mountain that captured the heart of Walt Disney who was so inspired, he designed a ride at Disneyland.
Out of town visitors can enjoy the magnificent scenery while shopping for souvenirs. When you walk into these stores you are probably going to be greeted by owner of the shop. This is also the small town allure that draws visitors to this area.
November had a typical temperature pattern as in previous years. You can count on some days below 32º which gets the tree and bush sugars to start their Autumn processes adding the vibrant red, purple, orange, and yellow colors. Some of the leaves will have a mixture of colors because of filtered sunlight hitting each leaf. It is very beautiful.

Compared to May of 2019, this was a much warmer May in 2020. The mean temperature jumped 10º which is pretty incredible. Last year there were no days over 90º and 23 days were below 80º. The one and only day below 80º came in at 78º.
The following article from the Los Angeles Times was published on-line, April 23rd but it does shed light on how visitors from other areas may come to resorts (which includes Sedona) and rent homes to get away from locations in their own states.
Sedona Weather April 2020, had a little of every temperature range! There is nothing hum-drum about the weather. We enjoyed some Sedona 70º plus spring weather at the beginning of the month and around the 9th, a cold front came in and made it feel chilly for about 5 days.
