There were huge flakes lasting 5 minutes. The temp was 34º a little after dawn right here in Soldiers Pass.
Pine Valley is a distinctive community located approximately 3 miles off the SR 179. It is nestled at the very end of Jacks Canyon Road. Near the end of the road, there is a cattle guard and this welcomes you to Pine Valley.
If you travel north from State Route (SR) 89A onto Rodeo Road and start heading up the hill, you will reach Crimson View, Western Hills sub-divisions along with Cedar Ridge, Sedona Arizona. What you will notice first are Crimson Red Rocks of Capital Butte and Thunder Mountain.
April Showers bring May Flowers! Sedona could not have had more beautiful weather during the month of April. Not one day dipped below freezing and the nighttime/daytime average was 58º. There were 27 days of temps over 65º (14 days between 70º ≤ 80º)!

The month of March mirrored the saying “March came in like a lion and went out like a lamb”. The month was not quite as warm as 2018 but it was roughly a very similar temperature pattern. However, the leaves on our Japanese Maple tree are just coming in now.
Time Change? What time change? As the rest of the country prepares to “gain” an hour of sleep at 2 am on Sunday November 5th, Arizona and Hawaii will have a normal day as always. No clocks are moved backward during Fall or forward during Spring. Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time (MST) all year long.
Soldiers Pass is a very special place to live. It is located just west of Uptown Sedona. The road goes back a little more than a mile and it winds and bends it’s way through Soldiers Pass. You get to see the many faces of Coffeepot Rock as you work you way through the pass. To the right of the road you will see the Sphinx and the Mittens further right you can easily see Ship Rock and The Fin.
Sedona February 2019 Weather – El Niño is responsible for our extreme cold weather this winter and especially February. Sedona had 5 low temperature readings below 20º with 11.2º the lowest temp so far this year. I am pretty sure this will hold as the lowest temperature. Last year only 1 day at 18.6º was recorded. The high temp for the month was 65.7º, where as last year it was 73.5º.
